UNTITLED, 2024

Images embedded in Handmade paper using Unbleached Abaca, Unbleached Hemp, Cotton, and Banana skin.

This is an ongoing series that includes repeated images of my father, baby me, my mother and I, alongside found images, screenshots, and more. Through these compositions, I explore the connections and patterns within my family archive, personal history, and my digital archive. In this piece I’m redefining the concept of home through memory and archival exploration. I'm constantly seeking ways to make my work interactive and tactile.

Central to this exploration is the concept of home, highlighted by images from my visit to Jamaica at age 15 — my father's birthplace. I'm interested in my father and I sharing feelings of displacement and separation. I aim to reflect on the emotions tied to being away from loved ones and familiar places through the repetition of imagery and memory.

My fascination with ephemera and its tangible presence has inspired me to create pieces about family history and ancestry, particularly focusing on my relationship with my father.
